பயன்பாடு

1. "I am going to" என்பது "I will" என்பதன் மிகைச்சொற்றொடர்.
2. Of eighteen lines, the periphrasis occupies fourteen, and in so many lines only conveys three ideas - பதினெட்டு வரிகளில் பதினான்கு சுற்றி வளைத்த மிகைச் சொற்றொடர்கள் கொண்டவை; அத்தனை வரிகளும் மூன்றே கருத்துகளைத் தான் கூறுகின்றன.
